New Projects...and Old!

So I'm very excited to announce that I have finished spinning my first skein of three ply yarn.  It came out beautifully!  Believe it or not I have only spun two ply yarns before.  I spun it from four ounces of  Merino that I purchased from The Woolbearers booth at the New Jersey Sheep and Wool Festival in September.  It was a perfect joy to spin and to ply!  A side note...I thought the polka dot background was too cute!  I'm just starting a journal to keep track of my steps on this "fiber journey" and that's the inside of the journal!

I also, as I type, have a scarf soaking in some lovely smelling wool wash,  awaiting the blocking process.  It is a scarf pattern that I am working on typing up in order to put up on Ravelry.  Woo hoo!  The yarn I knit the scarf from was spun on an Ashford Kiwi about a year ago.  It has been in my stash waiting for a special destiny...like every one of the thousands of yards in the overflowing basket.  But I'm sure I'm not the only yarn hoarder...Right?!

Have a great day! =0)

  2. Thank you! I had no idea what it would look like! Every step looks different...from fiber, to a single strand, to a ply on the bobbin, to skeined up, and then knitted. Each step shows a different element of the yarn.

The pink blend was one of my first spinning projects and was what I knit my scarf from. I can't wait to finish up the pattern to get it tested!
